Established in 2009, The Salvation Army Riverview Farm's social enterprise wholesale nursery and market garden 'Watch Them Grow' provides a place of work and respite for people from all walks of life. Come and enjoy the scenery and atmosphere at the farm, potter around in our market garden, or help out with one of the many jobs there are to do at the wholesale nursery.
The nursery was originally built at the farm as part of a Skilling Queenslanders for Work project, in conjunction with the Queensland Government's Greenarmy initiative. The project upskilled 10 trainees with a Certificate II in Horticulture in a supported work placement, and saw the majority of trainees transition into permanent work. It is now a self-sustainable social enterprise, maintaining a relationship with Big W garden centres, as well as holding a weekly plant stall.
Since the official opening of 'Watch Them Grow' in September 2010, word has spread fast of this green thumb's haven. Contact us for more information on how you can become involved, or how you can support the work of The Salvation Army through purchasing plants from 'Watch Them Grow'.
Our Watch Them Grow nursery has a weekly plant stall at the entrance of the property at 29 Riverview Rd, Riverview. The local community can purchase plants on Fridays from 8am to 12pm.
