Canaan School for Training and Development is situated on 360 acres of farm land, consisting of a campground including a camp kitchen, animal nursery , a function hall, and accommodation facilities. The peaceful surroundings and beautiful grounds of Canaan, on the banks of the Bremer and Brisbane Rivers, provide the perfect backdrop to camps, retreats, training days/weekends, and conferences.

The centre also runs social programs funded by the Australian Federal Government and the Queensland State Government, aiming to serve those most marginalised and disadvantaged in our community to overcome personal barriers to unemployment, and support them to successfully re-enter the workforce and gain independence.
