Get Set For Work is coordinated by The Salvation Army and funded by the Queensland Department  of Employment and Industrial Relations' Skilling Queenslander for Work initiative

 

Get Set For Work is a Centrelink approved program that is available to young people from Bundaberg, Childers, Biggenden, Gin Gin and Rosedale. Partaking in the program may entitle you to Youth Allowance. Active and appropriate participation meets Centrelink requirements for 'Earning or Learning'.  
The program operates for a minimum 15 hours per week with morning tea and lunch included. Some transportation assistance is available.

  • Team, leadership and social skills advancement
  • Self-esteem and life skills development
  • Community involvement
  • Post placement support
  • Assistance with personal barriers and welfare issues
  • Connecting with Centrelink, Job Networks and other support organisations

Get Set For Work is free to you if you:

  • Are aged between 15-17 years old
  • Have left or determined to leave school before completing year 12
  • Are not currently working
  • Are not enrolled in TAFE or other training program
  • Don't have a certificate II or higher qualification
