Description

The Advanced Diploma of Pastoral Counselling builds on the foundations laid in the Diploma of Pastoral Counselling:

  • from working with individuals to working with couples;
  • from growing in personal awareness to spiritual growth and development;
  • from using the Egan model to learning a variety of interventions;
  • and how to be a mentor.

There are also electives from which to choose to further develop skills and knowledge in areas of special interest.

  • SAPC602 Provide pastoral counselling for couples
  • SAPC603 Apply a wider range of counselling models to pastoral counselling
  • CHCCW13B Work with clients intensively
  • CHCMH4C Provide a non clinical service to clients with mental health issues
  • CHCORG27A Provide mentoring support to colleagues
  • CHCORG28A Reflect and improve upon professional practice
  • SAPC604 Provide pastoral counselling to clients with compulsive behaviour
  • SAPC605 Conduct pastoral counselling with clients from various cultural backgrounds including refugees
  • SAPC606 Working with clients who have disabilities
  • SAPC607 Facilitate support groups
  • SAPC608 Manage critical incident stress
