Who can apply and how?

Who Can Come?

As this course is "live in" on site at our Lake Munmorah campus, students are required to be without dependants and between 18 and 28 years of age. They must also fulfil the following criteria:

  • Worship on a regular basis at, and be committed to their local Salvation Army Corps.  
  • Live a spiritually healthy life, are committed to God and to the work of The Salvation Army and show an active Christian commitment through their corps.
  • Are fluent in, and able to read and write in the English Language (IELTS Level 5.5 - 6). 
  • Their Corps Officer will recommend the applicant for study at the School and would be prepared to complete a backing form.  
  • Are prepared to live by The Salvation Army ethos and standards whilst attending and representing Booth College, School for Youth Leadership. 
  • Are ready for one of the most powerful years of your life.

Commitment

  • Students must agree to and sign the student rules and agreement at the commencement of study.   
  • Students will at all venues be representatives of Booth College, School for Youth Leadership and The Salvation Army.  
  • Students may be required to wear a school uniform, or if a student is an enrolled Salvation Army Soldier, they will wear appropriate Salvation Army uniform for purposes of identification representation.


Application Process

  1. Contact the School for Youth Leadership for more information and an application pack or download the documents (below). 
  2. Fill out application and return it to the School. 
  3. We will send backing forms to your Corps Officer. 
  4. Once approved by the board that you are accepted, we will send an Acceptance pack. 
  5. Get prepared for the best year of your life!
