Jetty

This course is delivered at our Lake Munmorah Campus.

The 2O10 residential course will run from 9th February to 14th November. This full-time residential 9 month long course, is very intensive.

Practicum

The work experience element of the course is an important part of every students experience. There are a number of different options that may be tailored according to students passions, future aspirations and learning goals.

Possible practicum options include but are not limited to:

  • Participate as a staff member of American Salvation Army summer camps working with children and youth from different backgrounds in a camping program situation (valid passport required, overseas students may also need a visa). 
  • Participate on a Mission Team serving the marginalised e.g. at OASIS/Street Level (Sydney), OASIS Wyong, Macquarie Fields (Sydney) or Queensland. 
  • Participate in a Drug & Alcohol Centre 
  • Participate in a Church Plant
  • Participate in an Australian Corps or Centre with appropriate missional focus ie Sports Ministry/Youth Ministry etc

Note: Options are dependant on availability and not all students will be eligible or suitable for all options.

What Will It Cost?

The course fee is currently under review but will be around $5800 which covers course fees, text books, board and lodging. In addition, there is a cost of approximately $500 for the practicum.

Please note: Full payment must be made by the commencement of the course unless a formal agreement is made with the Directors.

For Australian students our Certificate IV in Youth Work course is fully accredited and Centrelink approved so if eligible you may receive youth allowance or Austudy payments whilst studying full-time at the School for Youth Leadership (You should check with Centrelink as to your eligibility for payment).
