St Leonards Christmas Festival

Date: 11th December 2011 5:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: 1341 Murradoc Road, St Leonards

Come and celebrate Christmas this year with The Salvation Army Bellarine Peninsula as they host the St Leonards Christmas Festival.

Right off the back of last years St Leonards Carols by Candlelight, which was a huge success, the Salvation Army presents a St Leonards Christmas Festival.

The aim of the Christmas Festival is to get people to celebrate Christmas, "It's Christmas and we're The Salvation Army we want people to celebrate life, family and community, and we believe life in all it's fullness is found in knowing Jesus Christ" says Lt. Peter Hobbs.

The Salvation Army Bellarine Peninsula has been in operation for nearly two years now and has already become a valued asset to the community. They have been used to bring hope, life and joy into the lives of many families.

Local St Leonards resident Mario Vella can't praise them enough for their support and care "The Salvos just came along at a time I really needed hope and they offerred me that and much needed support, now I along with my kids are actively engaged with the Salvos caring for our community because we want others to experience what we have."

So the Salvos would like to invite people from all over the Bellarine to come and participate in this celebration of Christmas.

There's going to be loads of activities for the kids, like face painting, colouring in competition, pony rides, jumping castles, live bands including the hit local band Soul Sisters Swing and Mick Cannaway and the Fabulous Backbeat.

There's traders for the adults, a Soul Cafe, loads of food venders including the YPA Estate Agent BBQ, The Pizza Truck, and the best coffee bean vender on the Bellarine Bean Cravin' Coffee.

Of course the night wouldn't be complete without a visit from Santa. "he's making a very special visit this year and he's being accompanied by some very capable and well known Rebel Forces from a galaxy far far away to make sure he get's there safely" says Lt Peter Hobbs

Bring a rug and loads of cash (and Aeroguard) to support The Salvation Army Bellarine Peninsula's Christmas Appeal and have a relaxing evening at St Leonards Primary School as you enjoy the best of local Bellarine community entertainment, all in a drug and alcohol free zone.

Prepare for a night of audience participation and interaction as we celebrate community, life, hope, and the birth of Jesus Christ!
