Our Mission and Vision

The Salvation Army has an international mission statement that sets the identity and direction for every command and centre that the Army operates.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Some territories also have an internal mission statement that conveys the local focus.

Here in the Australia Eastern Territory (NSW, ACT, Qld), our mission is to save souls, grow saints and serve suffering humanity.

Our Vision

We see a Spirit-filled Army of the 21st century convinced of its calling moving forward together into the world of the hurting, broken, lonely, dispossessed and lost, reaching them by all means with the transforming message of Jesus bringing freedom, hope and life.
