Freedom Celebration

The Salvation Army is about people finding freedom.  The Freedom Celebration promotes what we’re doing as an evangelical movement to help people find freedom from whatever confines them from living life to the full.  The freedom we celebrate is found through our faith in Jesus Christ, through a nurturing community, and through actions of service and kindness to others.

This year on 7th and 8th September at Sydney Olympic Park the Australia Eastern Territory will welcome our new international leaders, General André Cox and Commissioner Silvia Cox as guest speakers at the Freedom Celebration.  Joined by Commissioners James and Jan Condon and Colonels Richard and Janet Munn, hearing our world leaders speak their God-given messages into this Territory will not only be inspirational, but is sure to excite us into finding freedom for ourselves while being empowered to share it with others in our communities.

The Freedom Celebration is our opportunity to showcase who we are as an Army and what we are doing in our communities throughout the Territory.  We are a multi-generational, multi-cultural movement motivated by the love of Christ, compelled to share that love in our communities.  No matter who you are or where you’re from there will be something exciting for you at the Freedom Celebration.

The Salvation Army acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to elders both past and present.

The Salvation Army is committed to ensuring the provision of safe and inclusive environments for children, young people and vulnerable people where they feel respected, safe, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation.
