Dear friends:
You have been faithful in prayer. Thank you once again for joining with hundreds of Salvationists across the territory on Thursday mornings at 7:30am. This continues to be a sacred time, knowing that our territory is on its knees both literally and figuratively seeking God’s presence and direction. And how He is guiding us and pouring His blessings on our territory! We continue to offer our praise and thanksgiving for His grace and faithfulness.
I am writing at this time to ask you to focus in these coming days on the great territorial event – Uprising, taking place June 5 – 7. You will have read the details in the Pipeline and have seen it advertised at your corps or centre. Many of you will be there. It is such a significant coming together in our territory that it needs to be drenched in prayer. What we want is that when we go out from that weekend, it will be with renewed energy, knowing that the Lord came in a powerful way upon his army. We will go out with increased love for Him and for the people He has called us to serve. We will go out in confidence and hope, an army of God, a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered Salvation Army.
Colonel Lyell Rader, a Salvationist saint said, “Prayer ought not to be a struggle to overcome God’s reluctance but a loving search to discover God’s willingness.” The Lord loves for his people to meet together, to worship him, call on him, express our dependence and seek his reviving power. There’s no need for arm-twisting prayers trying to get God to do what we want. He wants to do greater things than we can even imagine. “Come Lord Jesus. Pour out your Spirit on us we pray”.
Yours sincerely,
Linda Bond (Commissioner)
Territorial Commander
The early Army was on the march because it was on its knees.
